Drifting An Ohio…..
couple on a tandem for seven out of the first 10 miles. The second five split was 21.3 mph average at at 89% max HR! It was fun trying to stay with them, but 7 miles was enough to make me shorten my ride down to 24 miles. It was a beautiful day….most sunny and 80 degrees by the time I finished….the beach wind was bit heavy but really enjoyable.

View Of The Ocean……
ride! What a super day for a Northern boy to find himself ride at the end of January! 68-73 degrees and very sunny even the breeze held of from blow so hard until I was almost finish riding. Saw lots of riders both in groups as well other riding like I was…solo. I talked to the only rider to pass me to confirm my directions he was around 50 or so I would guess and once he decide that my 16.5 mph pace wasn’t fast enough he disappear into distance in no time.

Plantation Bay……
is where we are staying with my wife’s sister so I just rode the streets arond the house. Was able to put in 20 good mile on a lovely sunny, 72 degree afternoon. The wind was really kicking it up, but it was worth it.

GA Dog Incounter…..
made this ride a lot more interesting it would have been other wise! I left the Motel on a nice county rode for an out and back ride. Going out the dog came out behind me barking, but he had no chance not at near 20 mph once I heard it coming. But, on the way back was another story! He never barked at all and the next thing knew he coming full bore and only six feet away! Only the Lord’s special guiding cause him to past in front of my bike with my front wheel clipping on his backside, maybe only his tail, but too close. I looked back over my should and he hadn’t got stopped yet and he was crossing the yellow line to the other lane…..and I was gone before it ever got turned around. It’s a little scary to think what would have happen if it had hit my front wheel! Thank you Lord!

The Machine…..
gave me a break today and didn’t kick in the resistance until around the 10th mile. Usually the resistance starts around mile five or six. 7/10 of a mile fast average, 3 rpm faster average cadence, and 4 bpm slower average HR kind of tells the story. I’m glad it took pity on me.

great unseasonal weather and more road miles second outdoor ride of the week. Can you believe 52 degrees and sunny to hazy sunshine? Yes, there was a 14-18 mph wind out of the Southwest, but as tough as it was riding against it I was still thankful for it. I headed East and North for the first 13 miles and it was when I turn back into the wind going West and the South that my five mile split really took a dive in average speed. Still a fun ride and a good aerobic one.

Riverview Rd. Loop…..
put me back outside today, but on the roads. At 37 degrees and sunny it was a very pleasant day to ride with my fleece pants and wind breaker. The wind was tough to negotiate at 7-12 mph, but it can blow all it wants if it keeps on bring us this above normal temperatures! There were some wet spot, but for the most part very good road conditions.
